January Snow Days

Today was the last of four lovely snow days in a row.  I have had about 50 cups of coffee, gone on about 29 sledding escapades, eaten my weight in various snacks around the house, looked out the window each morning for signs of more snow, created an ice skating rink(not so good at this) in our backyard, played many games of chess, watch reality TV...cake boss, 30 days, out of the wild....You get the picture.....
I think I actually miss the sound of pencils drumming and lockers slamming.  However, I wouldn't trade the gift of these days.  I am truly thankful for the gift of time.  Each day wrapped in ribbons and bows of people, moments, and beauty.
I know that God has me secure in his sight.  He gives me a glimpse of His mercy and grace through moments of pain and insecurity.  I always thought that the older you get the more clear life becomes.  I'm realizing it is much easier to trust and love and not always try to see, understand or analyze each situation.  I have dreams of BIG adventure.  But when I look back I see moments of adventure throughout each day....sledding, running, hugging, laughing, listening, hoping, dreaming with Ken, Abi, and Simon.  Who knows what adventure will fall in our laps this year....I look forward to trusting more, stressing less, and resting in the One who gave me my journey.
